Tata Motors has launched its Punch micro SUV with a CNG option while also upgrading its feature list. The Punch iCNG comes with a 1.2 petrol engine which develops 73.4 PS @6000 rpm and torque of 103 Nm @ 3230 rpm. Like the Altroz iCNG you also have a single ECU and having the ability to do a direct start in CNG mode.

The Punch iCNG only comes with a manual gearbox while the petrol comes with an AMT of course. Along with these updates, Tata has also added to the equipment list.

The Punch iCNG now gets a Voice assisted Electric Sunroof, Front Seat Armrest, USB C Type charger and a Shark fin antenna while also getting Automatic Projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, 7inch infotainment system by Harman which brings in Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, rain sensing wipers, height adjustable driver seat etc.

The twin cylinder feature is also taken from the Altroz iCNG and that means two cylinders positioned under the boot floor so as not to eat into the boot space. That said, the boot space of the Punch iCNG stands at 210 litres and that is less than the petrol one.

Tata Motors have also updated the petrol range of the Punch with the same features. With new competition coming in with the Hyundai Exter, this is an important update for the Punch. Along with its EV range, Tata Motors have been constantly updating its CNG range with new products and it's Punch is its most popular car.
