The fourth generation Swift has been revealed by Suzuki at the Tokyo Motor show along with the eVX with its interior. The Swift in its new generation form has retained its characteristic styling but now has a more rounded off shape. The car looks production ready with a large grille and the bumper design being changed. It looks bigger but is not so while some of the traditional Swift DNA has been kept.
The headlamp design is new along with a new DRL lighting signature though. The grille is gloss black and the Suzuki logo now sits above. There are new alloy wheels while now the rear door handle moves below. It seems to have more space now and addresses some of the issues faced with the current Swift.
The interior design has been shared with the Fronx while now there would be more new features added than before. The Swift for the Japan market also gets ADAS while we may not get the same for India due to the obvious cost related reasons. The new Swift looks bigger but is set to continue the look of the previous generation so as to not mess up with a proven formula. For India, the new Swift will get the 1.2l petrol engine only with a manual and an AMT option while abroad it has a hybrid option too.
The new Swift will debut in India by next year while still being sold in Arena showrooms. The eVX electric SUV has also been shown which has earlier showcased at the Auto Expo in India.
The eVX interior has been revealed but in concept form with an open cockpit design plus a large screen along with minimal use of buttons. There is a floating style centre console too. Expect the new Swift to come earlier than the eVX which will come in 2025 most probably with a 500km range.
