The already crowded sub 4m segment recently had the XUV 3XO but Skoda is also entering the segment with its upcoming sub 4m compact SUV whose name is yet to be announced. The new compact SUV which is due next year will get features to rival current SUVs in the same segment space like the Nexon, XUV 3XO and the Sonet plus Venue and Brezza.

The new SUV will have the traditional Skoda design DNA but will have some differentiation with the Kushaq too although some family resemblance would be carried. The main talking point would be the features on offer with a 360 degree camera plus ADAS. There would be other elements matching the Kushaq, including a 10inch touch screen plus touch AC controls too. It could most likely also have a single pane sunroof.

The new Skoda SUV would be understandably shorter than the Kushaq with a smaller wheelbase but will get a muscular look. In terms of features, we expect a digital instrument cluster, climate control, connected car tech and possibly ventilated seats although exact specs are yet to be known and would be so leading upto the launch next year.

Also to compete with rivals, the Skoda SUV will not offer a smaller naturally aspirated petrol but instead it will offer a 1.0l turbo petrol with a good amount of power at around 115bhp. Gearbox options for the new Skoda SUV would also include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. High localisation and aggressive pricing would be key for the upcoming Skoda SUV to get volumes and compete successfully with its long list of rivals and we expect the new SUV to offer value for money here too.
