Skoda has launched its sub 4m SUV, the Kylaq in India. The name is derived from the Mount Kailash and is the smallest Skoda SUV. Prices start at Rs 7.89 lakh.
The Kylaq looks like a Skoda alright but is different from the Kushaq since it has a split headlamp treatment with DRLs and LED projector headlamps below.
Like rivals it has a length of 3995mm and a wheelbase of 2566mm while it does look like a crossover from the back but has the appealing clean design which Skoda is known for.
The interiors meanwhile get a 10-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster while the features list includes powered front seats with ventilation which is first in class along with features like wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 360 degree camera and ADAS.
Of course interiors also get basic features like climate control, sunroof (single pane) and 6 airbags etc.
Boot space is 446 litres too which is highest in class.
Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq is similar to the Kushaq but has a 1.0 TSI as standard with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed Torque converter unit. Efficiency is 20kmpl.
The Kylaq would be launched in January and is expected to be priced aggressively given the localisation that it has.
The bookings for Kylaq will start from December 2nd while deliveries will start from 27th Jan.
