Buying a car is normally a very expensive affair involving a hefty downpayment and big EMI's along with maintenance costs plus more. With the need for personal mobility increasing, there are other solutions than just outright buying a car. Once such form which is catching up fast in the tier one cities is car subscription. Many car-makers offer it and for example we will take into account the last car-maker to offer such a program which is Nissan India.

Nissan has launched its car subscription scheme and it is interesting to note what advantages you get in place of buying a car. One of the biggest advantages of car subscription is of course zero down payment and zero insurance cost along with zero maintenance. In this case, Nissan has partnered with ORIX to offer subscriptions for its entire range including the Magnite, Kicks, and Redi-Go. With a car subscription you basically pay a nominal refundable deposit and from then onwards pay a fixed monthly fee on the basis of the tenure. That actually gives more flexibility when it comes to subscription as you can change to a new car at a lesser commitment. It is also flexible.

Again with the Nissan subscription scheme, you will get a car with a ‘White Plate’ and ‘Buy Back option’. Plus the Vehicle insurance, Registration fee, Road tax, RTO expenses, tyre and battery maintenance, and all of the other paperwork are taken care of in this plan. Hence as in terms of subscription, a Nissan Magnite MT XV is available at a monthly subscription plan of 17,999 while the Magnite Turbo CVT XV Premium comes in at Rs 25,299 per month. The Kicks monthly subscription rate starts at Rs 23,999 while the Redi-go is Rs 8,999. Currently available in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Chennai, this Nissan subscription model is more flexible than buying a car. Other than other car makers have subscriptions as well and in these uncertain times, the convenience and lesser outright cost, and the flexibility does have its appeal. If you keep your car for 2-3 years then something like this makes more sense. Typically car subscriptions are around 12 months starting to 48 months.
