The Triber is the most affordable 7-seater in India and also a compact MPV. But in the latest round of crash tests done by Global NCAP, the Triber has done very well with a 4-star rating for adult protection and 3-star rating for child occupant protection. That makes it the first seven-seater to score such and safer than other 7-seaters and MPVs as per this test.

As is always the base variant is tested and here the base variant of the Triber was tested with the 1.0 petrol engine along with the fact that the base variant has two airbags as standard. The tests showed that the protection to the adult occupant driver and the passenger head/neck was good and also the chest of the driver/passenger showed decent protection. The footwell area was rated as stable while the bodyshell was rated unstable.

The passenger's knees showed good protection as weLL while the driver's knees showed decent protection. The car offers standard seatbelt reminders (SBR) for drivers and passengers.

The Triber in its top-end variant has 4 airbags and the standard safety features. In the mass market, it is the safest MPV out there and also as a 7-seater.  The Triber ispriced between Rs 5.3 lakh to Rs 7.8 lakh while it is available with a petrol engine along with an AMT gearbox plus a manual as standard. Its mileage is 20kmpl. For cars, the 5-star rating is the best but a 4-star rating is also very good especially at the price point that the Triber occupies at.

According to the tests the Triber has done better than any Renault and the fact that the Triber shares the platform with the recently launched Kiger compact SUV, we can expect a similar rating for that when it is tested.
