Nissan is coming up with three new SUVs for India and it is a big step towards showcasing its commitment to the Indian market. These three SUVs are being evaluated for launch in India but the X-Trail for now has been confirmed as the first launch.

The X-Trail is a premium SUV that would rival the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq in India. All three, including the X-Trail, will however have the e-power system of being mild hybrids.

The X-Trail will come with a range extender of sorts where the 1.5 petrol engine acts as a generator.

It is there to charge and the car would be driven in electric mode all of the time. This could be an advantage of sorts since this does not require charging.

The other two SUVs are the Juke and the Qashqai, and both are popular international models. The Juke, especially, could be an interesting launch in India with its sportier design and the attractive interior.

The Juke, if launched, would be offered in petrol turbo and hybrid forms.

The Qashqai is a mainstream SUV that counts the Jeep Compass as a rival in terms of a premium crossover.

It would also have the e-power system and come in as a mild Hybrid also.

Of all three, the X-Trail is expected to be launched next year first with other two slated to come in later.

The X-Trail has been confirmed for the Indian market but the other two have a strong chance as well.

Nissan currently sells the Magnite and the Kicks but these three are premium SUVs that would be imported to India as CBUs. This reduces delay in launching new cars and will be a helpful addition for Nissan's SUV range.
