New Delhi: Honda has increased the feature list with its current generation new City by putting in more features along with its connected car technology. Connected car technology is changing cars and the tech that goes into our homes is also making its way into the cars we drive.
In much the same way, the new City gets the Google Assistant feature. The Honda Action on Google is now paired with Google Assistant-enabled devices such as Google Nest Speakers, Android and iOS smartphones. Currently, the new City already has an Alexa remote facility.
With 'OK Google' there are four new features being added and which brings the total to 36 features in terms of the overall connected tech suite.

Hence you can say "Ok Google" and ask to do basic functions like "Ok Google, ask Honda to turn on my car’s AC and set temperature to cool" or "Ok Google, ask Honda to unlock my car door".
There are other voice commands like "Ok Google, ask Honda to unlock my car’s boot" which can then open the boot remotely. You can also get the tyre deflation status via voice or even say "Ok Google, ask Honda to tell me about Battery health" to check any issues with the battery. Via these voice commands, the fuel status, location and past service history can also be checked along with mobile alerts.
Additionally, the Honda Connect gets a Valet Alert where there is an alert when the vehicle is driven outside the fence area set or Fuel Log Analysis to Cost of Maintenance Analysis etc. This is over and above the other connected features like SOS, speed alert, geo-fence alert, remote operations, nearby POIs, etc.
Connected car technology has been popular with cars of this segment with increased demand and some of them are useful while also increasing safety along with added convenience.
