New Delhi: This is the first electric luxury sedan in India and also from Mercedes-Benz with the EQS being its top of the line flagship luxury sedan. The EQS53 AMG is the first battery-electric AMG production model being based on the new EQ platform.
This is a performance electric version with two powerful motors at each axle along with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system.
The numbers are big with the total output of the car being 658 hp, with a maximum motor torque of 950 Nm.
With the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, which is available as an option, the maximum output increases to up to 761 hp in RACE START mode with boost function. The maximum motor torque is then up to 1020 Nm.
The EQS53 4MATIC+ also brings a new electric sound with the sound system generating a special AMG performance soundtrack since EVs are silent with no noise.
The luxury sedan uses a 400-volt battery and a 107.8 kWh battery pack along with fast charging, hence topping up with a fast charger does not take much time. The range is also 586km, which makes it the most efficient full size luxury EV.
Then there is the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension which is an air suspension system along with rear-axle steering which cuts short the turning circle.
Exterior wise there is a AMG-specific black panel grille and digital headlamps plus the styling is quite sleek along with being aerodynamic.
The interior is a talking point with a huge MBUX Hyperscreen with three screens which sit under a glass cover.
