Maruti Suzuki Sale: The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has added another feather to its cap. Issuing a statement today, the company said that it had crossed the total sales mark of 50 lakhs in India's rural markets. The company has over 1,700 customised outlets in rural India and today, about 40% of its total sales across the country come from rural markets.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), MSIL said, “We are proud to announce that with the support of our customers and local dealers, we have crossed the 50 lakh mark in terms of total sales in rural India.” He said, "Rural markets have a special place in the company's business. Over the years, we have carefully studied the requirements of this section. We are committed to providing products and services tailored to the needs of the customers in rural India."
The company has taken many special initiatives in rural areas.
MSIL said in its statement that 'keeping in mind the demand of our customers in rural areas, we have taken many initiatives.' In addition to the large rural sales network, the company said it had also established over 4,000 service touchpoints, which include 235 'service-on-wheels' to provide after-sales support to rural customers.
According to the data released by the company, its total sales in the April-June period of the current financial year stood at 3,53,614 units. The total sales in the financial year 2020-21 were 14,57,861 units, which was less than the total of 15,63,297 units in 2019-20.
