Mahindra will update its ageing XUV300 in a bid to remain competitive in the sub 4m segment space and this time it looks like it to be a big update. Styling-wise too the XUV300 will get a new look inspired by the XUV700 including the headlamp/DRL setup plus a new grille along with a tweaked bumper design. This will give this SUV a much-needed change in the looks department. We expect new alloys and a refreshed rear styling theme with a connected LED light bar.

There are small changes expected in terms of the dimensions but it will be smaller than the XUV400. Interiors are expected to be completely changed being a weakness on the current XUV300 with a floating touchscreen and a new look digital instrument cluster plus a revamped controls layout. Expect more features on offer too.

That said, besides the current gearbox options, the 1.2l turbo petrol unit could gain a new automatic gearbox with a torque converter while the diesel engine will remain. The AMT option could also be carried over. The new XUV300 will be packed with features to take on the popular Venue and the Nexon plus the Brezza. Kia will also plan the new Sonet to arrive on our shores.

The sub 4m SUV segment remains one of the most popular and a lot of the cars in that segment space are amongst the best-selling cars in India. In fact, the new Nexon is the best-selling SUV of India and the new XUV300 will attempt to match that. More details will be revealed when the XUV300 facelift is launched in 2024 starting.
