The 2023 KTM Duke 390 is one of the most important new bike launches and the changes are substantial even though the design largely stays the same. A closer look reveals the fact that the tank is new and the headlamp design is also changed now. You can also see the tank extensions. The headlamp design is more sculpted and the LED DRL design is also updated.

Expect a 1290 Duke R-inspired colour scheme as well with a nod towards being more premium. The new tank design also means that the fuel capacity will also change. Further updates include a new TFT dashboard, a quick-shifter, and a slipper clutch. The new 390 will get split seats too.

The big question is whether the new Duke 390 will get the same 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine or an entirely new powertrain, though looking at the spy shot, the engine might be the same in capacity but upgraded. At the moment this engine develops 43bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm at 7,000rpm. Of course, the 6-speed gearbox will most likely remain. There would be more electronic aids while the riding experience could be further dialed up as well.

The new Duke 390 is a crucial bike and its value-for-money performance credentials will most likely be enhanced with this big new update. With this model now looking production ready in these images, a full launch is expected soon while the Indian market introduction will most likely happen after that.

The new Duke 390 with these changes will carry a much more expensive price tag as well with a substantial change with an increase of about Rs 30,000 over the current version. That said, the updates do seem worth it at first glance while official details leading up to its launch will reveal more soon.
