Despite being an import, the EV6 has done pretty well in India and ahead of its Made-In-India EV launch in 2025, the car-maker will go further premium with the EV9. The EV9 is the most expensive Kia in the world and is their flagship electric SUV. It is also massive in size and gets an equally big battery pack which is much larger than the EV6. The EV9 is more than 5 metres long and is huge in size with streamlined styling similar to the concept version.

The EV9 has a range of 541km per charge while the battery pack is 99.8 kWh. The configuration is similar to most premium EVs with a dual motor layout with all-wheel drive on offer too. It is also powerful with a 0-1100 km/h time of only 6 seconds. It also has many seating options including individual seats plus these seats that can be turned 180 degrees. This EV also gets OTA updates and sustainable materials on the inside.

There is ADAS but the EV9 is compatible with ADAS level 3 but that is for select markets. Price is something to ponder about but like the EV6, expect this to be a CBU which means limited numbers but also a price tag which would be similar to EVs by other luxury brands. Hence, it could be priced near Rs 1cr much like other imported CBU EVs but limited numbers will bring rarity too. Not just the EV9 though as the carmaker also plans the new generation Carnival replacement plus other products.

For now, the next big launch is of course the new Seltos which was unveiled a few days back in India and the Seltos remains its most popular car in India along with the Carens plus the Sonet.
