Images of the new Verna have been leaked and it gives us a clear view of what to expect from this new premium sedan. The new Verna would be launched in a few days' time and the interior design is completely different from anything that we have seen from Hyundai.

For starters, the new Verna gets a two-spoke steering wheel which has never been seen before on a Hyundai in terms of design. Then the 10.25-inch screen is also joined with the digital instrument cluster with the screen being slightly positioned towards the driver. The air vent design is unique and spread across the entire width of the dashboard while there are two rotary knobs below.

There are also touch-sensitive buttons which change functionality as well. The steering wheel has a design similar to the Tucson and comes with steering controls for the ADAS features too. You can also see wireless charging being available while the new Verna will get a sunroof as well. In terms of space, the new Verna has a much longer wheelbase over the earlier generation model which generates more room inside.

It also has a larger 528-litre boot capacity as well. We will know the prices on the 21st while the variant line-up of the new Verna reads as EX, S, SX and SX (O). The new Verna will remain petrol only with a pair of 1.5l turbo and naturally aspirated engines including a DCT gearbox for the turbo petrol.

The new Verna is the second Hyundai to get the new 1.5l turbo petrol after the Alcazar. The turbo petrol has 160 bhp and will also power the rest of the Hyundai range later.

The new Verna will be Hyundai's sedan to rival the likes of the new Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus and the Skoda Slavia.
