New Delhi: Hyundai has finally launched the 2022 new Tucson in India at a starting price of Rs 27.7 lakh ex-showroom for the starting variant. The new Tucson comes in two trims and does not get any entry-level variant at all with both variants being well equipped with features. The trims are called Platinum and Signature. The Tucson would also be sold through 246 Hyundai Signature Outlets in 125 cities while bookings are open for Rs 50,000.


In terms of features, the new Tucson is the first Hyundai to get ADAS level 2 features including 19 such features along with over 60 connected car tech features too. The new generation Tucson is bigger as its dimensions read as 4630 mm X 1865 mm X 1665 mm while its wheelbase is 2755mm. India gets the long wheelbase version too even though it is a 5-seater.

The Tucson in terms of its engine options comes with either a 2.0l petrol which is equipped with a 6-speed automatic while there is also a 2.0l diesel which gets an 8-speed automatic along with AWD with terrain modes on offer.



Loaded with features like dual-powered seats with cooled/heating function, driver-side memory seat function, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, front/rear sensors, air purifier, hidden air vents and more, the Tucson gets one of the most extensive equipment lists among rivals.


The SUV is placed above the Alcazar and is the flagship SUV from Hyundai in India while coming to India in CKD form. Rivals come in the form of the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq along with the top-end Mahindra XUV700.
