New Delhi: Hyundai has finally launched the Alcazar SUV in India. Due to the current situation and lockdown, the launch was delayed but now it is finally here. The Alcazar is a 7 seater three-row SUV that will sit above the Creta and below the Tuscon in terms of price and size.

The Alcazar is available with either a 7-seating configuration or a 6-seater configuration with captain seats in the second row. The Alcazar will also be available in six colours - Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black, and Starry Night, including dual-tone ones.

There are in total six variants - Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature, and Signature (O).

Powering the Hyundai Alcazar is a set of diesel and petrol engines.

As seen above both the engine options come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. There are also Drive Modes on offer (COMFORT | ECO | SPORT) and Traction Control Modes (SNOW | SAND | MUD).


The Alcazar has a wheelbase of 2,760mm which is the longest in its class while the interior features a new Cognac Brown dual-tone upholstery. In terms of practicality it gets 2nd Row One Touch Tip and Tumble Seats (Captain & 60:40 Split Seats).

As always the feature list is long with Hyundai adding many features over and above the ones in the Creta. The Alcazar gets a 26.03 cm (10.25”) Multi-Display Digital Cluster, 8-speaker BOSE audio system, air purifier, side footstep, rear window sunshade, rear table with cup holder and device holder, puddle lamps, 64 colour ambient lighting, 8-way powered seats, Blue Link connected technology, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and more including the 10.25inch touch screen.


The Alcazar will compete with other three-row SUVs like the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus while being priced lower and having more space/features too. Stay tuned to our review of the Hyundai Alcazar coming next week.
