Honda will launch the 2023 City tomorrow and the most popular Honda model gets some important updates including some styling changes. The first look shows a new bumper design which is more aggressive looking along with a tweaked grille. This is a more sportier look when compared to the current model. The rear bumper also gets a new look with an updated rear bumper. Top-end versions will get new 16-inch alloys too.

Honda will also expand the City e:HEV variant since currently it is available only with the top-spec trim but with the addition of a new VX trim, the price will go down and will expand the appeal of the strong hybrid model.

Also, the current City strong hybrid gets ADAS features and not the regular City but that will change with the ADAS feature availability with the standard City facelift too.

The City facelift will get a 1.5l petrol engine along with the strong hybrid version. The engines would be equipped to pass the latest norms in meeting the RDE norms. There would be no diesel City though as the City facelift would be petrol only along with the strong hybrid of course. The changing of the variants and making the hybrid more affordable is in a bid to fend off new rivals in this space and to maintain the popularity of the City.

In terms of the expected price, the City facelift will be slightly more expensive over the current City but prices would be Rs 12 lakh starting while the top-end versions will be around Rs 20 lakh. The sedan segment will be seeing a lot of action with the launch of the new Hyundai Verna on the 21st of March along with the launch of the Honda City facelift by tomorrow. The sedan segment last year saw the entry of the Honda City hybrid along with the Volkswagen Virtus and the Skoda Slavia.
