Fill The Cylinder Less Than Its Refill Capacity
CNG should not be filled to the maximum limit of the cylinder installed in the car. This is due to the risk of thermal expansion in a hot environment. It is recommended that you fill less than the refill capacity of your cylinder. For example, if the refill capacity is 8 liters, you should fill up to seven liters only.
Cylinder Expiry Date
It is important to check the CNG cylinder's expiry date. The life of a CNG cylinder is usually around 15 years. Even if your car is still running beyond that time, you should check the expiry date of the cylinder.
Park In Shaded Area
As far as possible, CNG vehicles should be parked in the shade. Strong sunlight can increase the cabin temperature. If the car has to be parked for most of the day, park it in a shaded place.
Hydro-Testing
CNG cylinders have to undergo hydro-testing every three years. This ensures that there is no leakage or damage to the cylinder and that the cylinder can still be used. This is important given the high temperatures in summers.
