New Delhi: The prices of petrol and diesel are becoming a matter of concern for everyone. And that is why a large number of people are adopting CNG cars. In such a situation, a question may arise in everyone's mind whether they should buy a company-fitted CNG car or fit the CNG kit externally from the market after buying the car.
This is also an important question because many car manufacturers fit CNG kits in their cars and these cars are called company fit CNG cars. The price of these cars is usually more than the petrol cars.
Meanwhile, CNG kits can be externally fitted with petrol engine cars as well after getting permission from the RTO. Here is the difference between company-fitted CNG kits and aftermarket-fitted CNG kits.
There are two types of CNG kits. The first one is a Venturi CNG kit. Now their trend has gone down considerably. This is a simple version of the kit. It does not have sensors and ECUs. It is based only on the throttle. The second is a sequential CNG kit. This is a modern kit which is usually used by car manufacturers.
Company Fitted CNG Kit Vs Aftermarket CNG Kit
The price of the aftermarket CNG kit fitting is either at par with the company-fitted CNG kit or a little more than that. In such a case, it is advisable to go for the company fitted CNG kit because it provides a warranty if the engine. On the other hand, the warranty of the engine ends when the aftermarket CNG Kit is installed.
In the after-market, if the CNG kit is not installed from a recognized dealership, there is a possibility of fraud. And on top of that, if the mechanic damages the engine in any way, the cost comes to the owner of the car.
The company-fitted CNG kits are fitted only after being tested several times. That makes them easier to trust. If the aftermarket CNG kit is installed by a non-recognized dealer, the CNG kit can be considered illegal.
