Delhiites woke up to a smog-covered skyline on Friday. The air quality this morning was in the 'Very Poor' category. The air quality index (AQI) of Delhi stood at 346 this morning at around 7 am, according to SAFAR.
A number of areas in Delhi also recorded 'severe' category air quality, Ashok Vihar's AQI today stood at 430, while the AQI at IGI Airport T3 terminal was 473, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Mumbai is comparatively in a better state but it is still ranged in the “Poor” category with an AQI of 150-200, as per a numerical model-based system developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) in Pune.
