New Delhi: BYD, a Chinese manufacturer of mostly electric cars and hybrid cars, has launched its first product for the Indian market called the e6 MPV. This is an all-electric MPV aimed at the B2B segment for now.


The e6 is equipped with the 71.7 kWh Blade Battery and a WLTC(city) range of 520km and a WLTC (combined) range of 415km with a single charge.

That makes it one of the EVs with the longest range in India (claimed). The 70kWh electric motor offers a torque of 180 Nm and a top speed of 130km/h. The All-New e6 would be available in cities of Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai.


This MPV supports both AC and DC fast charging while DC fast charging technology will get the charge from 30% to 80% within 35 minutes.




BYD claims this MPV has a boot capacity of 580l while having features like Leather seats, 6-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats, 10.1-inch rotatable touch screen, an air filter, speed sensing automatic locking and a rearview camera with distance scale line etc.


The EV comes with a warranty of 3 years/125,000 km (whichever is earlier), a battery cell warranty of 8 Years/500,000 km (whichever is earlier), and a traction motor warranty of 8 Years/150,000 km. Currently, only select cities are getting this car at an Ex-showroom price of Rs 29,60,000 inclusive of a 7kW charger, and Rs 29,15,000 exclusive of a 7kW charger for the B2B market.


The Indian subsidiary of BYD has two factories here while in the future it plans to launch more cars.
