BYD has added a new variant in its Atto 3 EV SUV which brings the price down and makes it more accessible. The new Dynamic trim of the BYD Atto 3 is priced at Rs 24.99 lakh and comes with a smaller 49.92 kWh battery pack with a claimed 468 km range being tested by ARAI.

The Atto 3 now has three trims: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. Visually, the Atto 3 has a new Cosmos Black colour too. If we talk about the range figure for the other trims, the Premium and Superior now have a claimed range of 521 km and 480 km (ARAI). This born electric EV comes with an electric only platform as BYD only makes EVs while it offers fast charging from 0-80 per cent in 50 minutes.

Features wise, the Atto 3 comes equipped with 7 airbags, a panoramic sunroof and a 360 degree camera plus more. This is a more affordable variant in the Atto 3 range and drops the price down to make it more appealing. BYD is also looking at expanding its dealership reach and currently has 26 dealerships across 23 cities.

If we talk about the pricing, the Atto 3 rivals the likes of the Tata Nexon EV which is priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh plus the MG ZS which is priced between Rs 18.9 lakh and Rs 25.2 lakh. There is also the XUV 400 EV from Mahindra which is priced between Rs 15.4 lakh and Rs 19.3 lakh. This move will certainly spark a price war within the competitive sub 25 lakh EV space with more products set to join this segment in the years to come.
