With the recent launches gathering a high number of bookings especially the Swift and XUV 3XO, an interesting trend has emerged and that is buyers getting the middle variants rather than the top-end ones.
The Swift and XUV 3XO have received 40,000 and 50,000 bookings within a short time with buyers choosing the mid-spec variants more. In the case of the Swift, the VXI variant has more demand for its lower pricing over the top-end ZXI variant.
The top-end ZXI and ZXI+ cost Rs 8.3 and Rs 9 lakh while the VXI costs Rs 7.3 lakh. The XUV 3XO also has its AX5 and X5L variants being more popular due to the obvious lower pricing.
It seems while standard equipment in cars are increasing especially with safety, more features are now spread across the mid spec variants too. With cars these days getting more and more features, buyers are finding the mid variants as more value for money since it covers the basics along with having quite a lot of kit.

Unlike earlier times, manufacturers are spreading features and giving more options right from the mid spec trims. There are also cars which have a huge number of variants which confuses buyers while also tapping different segments. However, with these two new launches and with other popular cars, the mid variants are the most popular which tap a larger market while appealing to the wallet of the new car byer too.
We think a variant lower the top-end trim is the best one being the best combination of price and features. That said, it also depends on car to car but with manufacturers equipping their cars better, the mid variants remains the best bet.
