Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz will launch its EQA luxury EV on the 8th of July and it promises to be it's entry level electric SUV in India. Mercedes-Benz currently has the EQB, EQE and the EQS.
The EQA meanwhile would be aimed at the volume segment in terms of EVs. The EQA looks different from the GLA with its bigger grille and the like it's EVs features a blanked off grille with a star pattern. It also gets different alloy wheels with EV specific tyres too. It looks different and will get exclusive colour options too.
The interiors would be different to the GLA too with EV specific accents. There is a three spoke steering wheel and S-Class like capacitive buttons. There is an optional Burmester audio system for the new EQA globally while it remains to be seen whether it is coming to India also or not.
The range and specifications for the Indian market have not been announced yet but we expect a 70.5 kWh battery pack with 560km of range but there could be a smaller battery pack too with less range but still above 500km. The EQA would be a part of the launch strategy for Mercedes-Benz as it plans to double it's EVs in the Indian market.
We are getting the updated EQA which has more range and also when compared to other EVs at this segment, the EQA has one of the highest figures in terms of range.
The EQA would be expected to be priced lower than the EQB but higher than the GLA.
