BMW has launched its flagship 7 Series in India along with the i7 electric version too. The 740i M Sport is priced at Rs 1.7 cr while the i7 is priced at Rs 1.95 cr.
This is the first time that an electric 7 Series is offered.
The new 7 Series is all new and comes with a different exterior design along with a feature-packed interior, which is expected from a flagship BMW.
The slim DRLs and the crystal headlamps are the new design signatures.
The headlamps are Swarovski crystals too. Being a BMW, it has a kidney grille but it is illuminated with a glow.
Size-wise, the new 7 Series has grown with another 131mm being added to the length at 5,391 mm.
The i7 also offers automatic door opening and closing with just a touch on the door handles.
The interior uses a touch-enabled bar and crystal jewelry while there is a freestanding BMW Curved Display.
The talking point however is the massive rear seat entertainment function thanks to the 31.3-inch touch screen with 8K resolution extending down from the ceiling to turn the car into a mobile home cinema. There is also a panoramic glass lounge and Amazon fire TV along with the controls on the door pads via smartphone-style touchscreen control panels.
The Executive Lounge Seating behind the front passenger reclines to 42.5 degrees while enabling a first-class air travel-like experience.
Other notable highlights include augmented reality, a heads-up display, rear-wheel steering, and more.
There is a petrol 740i on offer with a three-litre six-cylinder engine and the i7 which comes with a 101.7 kWh battery providing a range of up to 625 kms (WLTP). The i7 comes standard with a wallbox charger.
