New Delhi: The 2023 Auto Expo might have many missing car-makers but the top two car-makers in India would be present in full swing with key new products.

Both car-makers have always participated at the Auto Expo and even this time will show new cars due for launch in the coming months. Maruti will show two new cars including the Baleno based crossover which will sit above it in the Nexa range. Like the Baleno, it will also be sold via the Nexa sales outlets.

It would be a crossover of sorts and will sport different styling when compared to the standard Baleno with also a turbo petrol coming in. Alongside the Baleno cross it will also showcase the Jimny for India in 5-door form.

The Jimny was earlier shown in 3-door form at the last Auto Expo, but this would be the 5-door version which has been adapted for the Indian market with more room while it will of course have a proper 4x4 system.

Hyundai will also have its Ioniq5 which it will launch at the Show as it will be an important launch being its flagship EV SUV which will be assembled in India.

The Ioniq5 would also be the first Hyundai to be based on the E-GMP platform which underpins all global EVs from Hyundai. The Ioniq5 being locally assembled would be an advantage. That said, the car-maker will also show the new generation Verna most likely which is an all new sedan based on a new platform plus getting a longer wheelbase along with features like ADAS.

It will be Hyundai's answer to the new sedans getting launched. The Ioniq5 and new Verna could also be joined by a new EV concept which shows the future made for India electric car by Hyundai.

Hence, despite the long list of absentees the top two carmakers would be at the Auto Expo with numerous new cars.
