New Delhi: Ather will introduce a low cost version of its electric scooter called 450S to rival Ola S1 Air. The big change would be the deletion of features as that would enable Ather to price it lesser.
There would be some features removed from the Ather 450X and in turn open the electric scooter to more masses by making it more attainable. Hence, expect features like the TFT display to be removed. It is interesting where the 450S would be positioned in terms of pricing because Ather has expanded the 450X range also.
The 450X pro pack comes with all the premium features and a fast charger while the new entry level variant brings in a slow charger while providing a cheaper 450X. It also remains to be seen whether the 450S gets the same 3.7kWh battery pack as the starting variant of the 450X although expect a slower charging time too for the 450S.

Things like a more basic display and features like Bluetooth or OTA updates would also be cut. We also expect the 450S to have less performance over the 450X to have a clear difference. The 450S would be to lure more petrol scooter buyers and increase the mass acceptance for electric two wheelers and of course, a cut price version is the best way to do that.
The 450S would also be priced lower than the entry level version of the 450X with the price being expected to be well below Rs 98,000 for the entry level Ather scooter. We will know more details regarding this new electric scooter soon for now along with the Ola S1 Air, the Ather 450S would also rival the likes of the TVS iQube in the entry level electric scooter space.
