Our premium motorcycle of the year is none other than Suzuki Katana, a motorcycle that is sharp as a sword and lethal as a Samurai. The manufacturer launched the litre-class Suzuki bike in our market a few months back, and it is getting an amazing amount of response from enthusiasts across the country. After the launch of the new-gen Hayabusa and V-Strom 650, Katana is the third addition to the company's premium motorcycle line-up.

In terms of looks, it looks better than any other premium bike launched in our market this year. Talking about the design cues, it gets a squarish LED headlamp up front. It also gets classy-looking golden-coloured suspension units and alloy wheels. It gets sharp lines and creases, which makes it more aerodynamic. At the back, the bike features an LED taillight, which looks quite elegant. Overall, the all-new Suzuki Katana is a perfect example of fine craftsmanship.

Powering the all-new Suzuki Katana is a 1000cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine, which is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 150bhp and 106 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This 1000cc engine is no less than a work of art as it has been developed from the technologies of MotoGP racing. In terms of performance, this engine has a broader and smoother torque curve. It offers a good amount of low-end grunt, which means one can ride this motorcycle on higher gears at slow speeds.

It offers three ride modes, A, B, and C along with features slipper and assists clutch along with a 5-level traction control system. Braking duties are done by Brembo disc brakes, which offer an amazing bite under hard braking conditions. Priced at Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the all-new Suzuki Katana is a perfect blend of sophisticated design and uncompromising performance.
