A total of ten flights operated by IndiGo Airlines received bomb threats on Tuesday. Of these, seven flights were being operated on international routes while three were domestic flights. This comes amid a series of hoax threats issued to several airlines in the last few days.
The international flights included-- Flight 6E 67, operating from Hyderabad to Jeddah; Flight 6E 18 operating from Istanbul to Mumbai; Flight 6E 83 operating from Delhi to Dammam; Flight 6E 77, operating from Bengaluru to Jeddah; Flight 6E 12 operating from Istanbul to Delhi; Flight 6E 65, operating from Kozhikode to Jeddah; and Flight 6E 63, operating from Delhi to Jeddah.
Meanwhile, the three domestic flights that faced delays due to threat were --Flight 6E 164, operating from Mangaluru to Mumbai, Flight 6E 75, operating from Ahmedabad to Jeddah; and Flight 6E 118, operating from Lucknow to Pune.
This came a day after at least 30 flights operated by Indian airlines on both domestic and international routes received bomb threats on Monday night. The flights of IndiGo, Vistara and Air India were among those that received the hoax threats. A similar incident also occurred a little over a week ago, when more than 120 flights operated by Indian carriers received bomb threats. Even though bomb threats are hoaxes, things cannot be taken non-seriously, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Monday.
CRPF Schools Get Hoax Threats
Moreover, several Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) schools across the country also received hoax bomb threats on Tuesday. Of them, two were reportedly in Delhi and one in Hyderabad. "The threat was delivered through an email circulated to the management of these schools late Monday night," news agency ANI reported quoting sources privy to the development.
