Yogini Ekadashi 2024: In Sanatan Dharma, the Ekadashi date is considered extremely auspicious. The Ekadashi fast is observed twice every month, once during the Krishna Paksha (waning moon) and once during the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon). According to religious beliefs, worshiping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on the Ekadashi date bestows auspicious results and fulfills all desires. In the month of July, Yogini Ekadashi and Devshayani Ekadashi will occur.
Yogini Ekadashi 2024 Date:
The Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadha is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world. On this day, Yogini Ekadashi is observed. In 2024, Yogini Ekadashi falls on July 2. On Yogini Ekadashi, the Vaishnav community observes a fast and worships Lord Lakshmi Narayan with rituals and ceremonies. They also perform special remedies to attain success in auspicious works. With the blessings of Lord Vishnu, all the desires of the devotee are fulfilled.
Four auspicious yogas (planetary alignments) are being formed on Yogini Ekadashi. According to religious beliefs, fasting on Ekadashi with a sincere heart ensures that one never faces financial scarcity in life.
Goddess Lakshmi Will Be Pleased
In a year, 24 Ekadashi fasts are observed. All of these are dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Worshiping Him on these days brings auspicious results. Some people also observe a nirjala fast (without water), which is very challenging. It is believed that those who fast on Ekadashi receive the blessings of both Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This increases the significance of Yogini Ekadashi, which falls in the month of Ashadha.
Yogini Ekadashi Significance:
The Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadha is known as Yogini Ekadashi. It is believed that worshiping Lord Vishnu on Yogini Ekadashi liberates one from sins. It is also said that observing this fast grants a place at the feet of Lord Vishnu after death. Fasting on this day yields the merit equivalent to feeding 88,000 Brahmins.
Yogini Ekadashi 2024 Time:
According to the Panchang (Hindu calendar), the Ekadashi date of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadha begins on July 1 at 10:26 AM and ends on July 2 at 8:42 AM. Therefore, the Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed on July 2.
Yogini Ekadashi 2024 Shubh Yoga:
- Dhriti Yoga: Dhriti Yoga is being formed on Yogini Ekadashi. On this day, Dhriti Yoga lasts until 11:17 AM, after which Shool Yoga will form. Worshiping Lord Vishnu in Dhriti Yoga is very fruitful.
- Tripushkar Yoga: Tripushkar Yoga is being formed on the date of Yogini Ekadashi. This yoga begins at 8:37 AM and ends on July 3 at 4:40 AM.
- Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga: Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is also being formed on the date of Yogini Ekadashi. This yoga begins at 5:27 AM and ends on July 3 at 4:40 AM. Worshiping Lord Vishnu during this yoga grants the desired results.
- Shivavas Yoga: Shivavas Yoga is being formed on this day. Lord Shiva will reside on Mount Kailash until 8:42 AM and then on Nandi. Performing abhisheka (ritual bathing) of Lord Shiva during His residence on Kailash and Nandi brings success in all endeavors.
Yogini Ekadashi Puja Rituals:
- On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, it is customary to worship Lord Vishnu. The peepal tree should also be worshiped.
- One should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Wearing yellow clothes is considered more auspicious.
- Then, take a vow of fasting while meditating on Lord Vishnu. After this, perform His worship according to rituals and read the story of Yogini Ekadashi fast. Later, perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu. You can also offer food and donations to the needy, which pleases Lord Vishnu.
Yogini Ekadashi Mantra:
Vishnu Gayatri Mantra: "Om Shri Vishnave cha Vidmahe Vasudevaya Dhimahi। Tanno Vishnuh Prachodayat॥"
Vishnu Mangal Mantra: "Mangalam Bhagwan Vishnuh, Mangalam Garunadhwajah। Mangalam Pundari Kakshah, Mangalaya Tano Harih॥"
Yogini Ekadashi Fasting Rules:
On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, one should not consume grains.
Even those who do not observe the fast should avoid eating rice.
On this day, avoid cutting hair, nails, and beard.
On Yogini Ekadashi, it is considered auspicious to donate something to Brahmins.
After breaking the fast, it is considered good to donate grains.
