- On the day of Krishna Janmashtami, worship Lord Krishna in his child form.
- After taking a morning bath, offer prayers to all deities and commit to fasting.
- At noon, sow black sesame seeds in water to create a maternity house for Devaki ji.
- Arrange a beautiful bed in this Sutika (maternity) house and place the sacred urn on it.
- Install the idols of Mother Devaki, Lord Krishna, Devaki, Vasudev, Baldev, Nanda, Yashoda, and Goddess Lakshmi, and perform their worship.
- This fast is broken after midnight.
- Grains are prohibited during this fast.
- Kuttu flour ki pakodi, Mave ki barfi, and Singhada flour halwa can be consumed as fruits.
