Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the accommodations on trains carrying people to the Chhath Puja festivals. Photos of Vaishnaw chatting with passengers were released by the Ministry of Railways, whose riders said they were happy with the preparations for the event.


The ministry said that Vaishnaw also asked people leaving from New Delhi Railway Station for the holidays and Chhath Puja to give him feedback.

Meanwhile, on November 20, the Chhath Puja will conclude with Usha Arghya and Parana.

  • New Clothes: The fasting woman should first purchase a new saree for herself.

  • Bamboo Baskets: Purchase two large bamboo baskets for keeping prasad during Chhath Puja. The entire puja material is placed in these baskets, and men carry them on their heads to the river or pond for worship.

  • Soup Pot: A soup pot made of bamboo or brass is required.

  • Milk and Water Glass: Bring a glass, lota, or kalash for milk and water offerings.

  • Thali: A thali (plate) is also needed for the puja.
