But, there are some tasks that should not be forgotten on this day, as it is believed that if these are overlooked on Akshaya Tritiya, Goddess Lakshmi leaves the house. 

Mistakes To Avoid On Akshaya Tritiya:

This year, Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on May 10. Here are some mistakes that you should avoid on this day:

Darkness and dirtiness: According to scriptures, Goddess Lakshmi resides where there is cleanliness and brightness. Therefore, on Akshaya Tritiya, do not leave any corner of your home dark or dirty. Keep a lamp burning at night on this day. Goddess Lakshmi returns from the threshold upon encountering dirtiness and darkness.

Do not break a fast: It is believed that if you have been fasting for a long time, do not break the fast on Akshaya Tritiya. It is not considered auspicious.

Do not buy certain things: Do not buy plastic, aluminum, or iron on Akshaya Tritiya. This brings the inauspicious effects of Rahu. Negativity and poverty enter the house.

Avoid borrowing: On Akshaya Tritiya, buy things only with your own earnings, do not borrow. Doing so causes Goddess Lakshmi to leave the house. Also, it is considered inauspicious to lend or borrow money from anyone on this day.

Avoid house construction: While buying property or a house is considered auspicious on Akshaya Tritiya, avoid construction work on this day or repairing any kind of damage in the house (such as walls, furniture).

Avoid eating certain things: Akshaya Tritiya is considered a highly sacred festival. On this day, do not consume meat or alcohol, as it brings financial difficulties. Prosperity diminishes, and Goddess Lakshmi becomes displeased.

Do not pluck Tulsi: On Akshaya Tritiya, the worship of Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi is also performed. It is believed that on this day, one should not pluck Tulsi leaves, as it displeases Goddess Lakshmi.

Avoid arguments: On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, avoid disputes and arguments. Do not cause grief to anyone physically or mentally. Do not insult women and the elderly. Do not send away innocent animals and birds or needy people without feeding them.
