In the early hours of Saturday, the Amaravati Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) initiated the demolition of an under-construction office building belonging to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Tadepalli. The demolition work, which started at 5:30 am, involved the use of excavators and bulldozers on a building that was only days away from completion.

YSRCP Party Office Demolition

YSRCP's under-construction central office in Tadepalli was demolished on Saturday early morning.

On the demolition, TDP leader Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy said, "As per the law and prevailing rules, any illegal construction needs to be demolished. Today, the party office of YSRCP which is being built illegally without obtaining any permissions from the concerned departments is being demolished as per the rules."

"This has nothing to do with any kind of political vendetta as the YSRCP is alleging. First, they should answer whether the constitution which they have taken up has the required permissions or not...TDP and Nara Chandrababu Naidu have never followed the path of political vendetta," he said.

The govt sources also said that the building was constructed on illegally occupied boatyard land, and demolished as per law.

However, the swift action has sparked significant controversy with the YSRCP condemning the move as a blatant defiance of law.

YSRCP Condemns Demolition As 'Political Vendetta'

Reacting to the demolition, YSRCP leaders accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of engaging in vendetta politics. The party claimed that the demolition proceeded even though YSRCP approached High Court the previous day challenging the preliminary actions of CRDA. Earlier, the court had ordered a halt to any demolition activity.

Reacting to the incident, former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy taking to X said, "Like a dictator, he (Chandrababu Naidu) bulldozed the nearly completed YSRCP central office at Tadepalli. The orders of the High Court were ignored. Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state."

"Chandrababu has given a violent message about how the regime is going to be for these five years through this incident. We will fight hard on behalf of the people, for the people and with the people," he said.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP highlighted that the demolished structure was prepared for a slab before being razed, indicating significant progress in construction.
