Hyderabad: After YS Jagan on Sunday announced the 14 new ministers who are to be inducted into the cabinet on Monday, the YSRCP followers of the leaders who had missed out on cabinet seats staged protests and took out rallies expressing their dissatisfaction.


Followers of those YSRCP leaders, who couldn't get the cabinet seat, showed their dissatisfaction by burning tyres on the roads in certain parts of the state, reported ABP Desam. When their favourite leaders were found to be ineligible for cabinet positions, their supporters tore up CM Jagan's flexi and expressed their displeasure.


Former Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita has resigned as an MLA.


The local party ranks and MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy are expected to get the ministerial post. However, Pinnelli's supporters protested in the Macherla constituency as he couldn't find a place in the cabinet.

CM Jagan has again given a chance to five Dalit leaders in his cabinet. Taneti Vanitha, Pinipe Viswarup, K Narayana Swamy, Audimulapu Suresh and Merugu Nagarjuna have been given a place in the new cabinet. Jagan took Meruga Nagarjuna into the cabinet in place of Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita. 


Followers of MLAs Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Silpa Chakrapani Reddy protested that their leaders did not get ministerial posts. Five councillors among Silpa Chakrapani Reddy's followers have resigned.


In Jaggayyapeta, YSRCP activists were outraged that their leader Samini Udayabhanu was not given a chance in the cabinet this time. Apart from protesting on the road in Jaggayyapeta, a scooter was also set on fire. Elsewhere, tensions were high as party Flexi and effigies were burnt by the YSRCP activists.
