Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu said that the budget introduced by the Centre is not promising. He said that there was nothing in the budget to do with the economically backward sections and the sectors affected by Covid.

He analysed that the Center has tried to abdicate its responsibility in the National Food Security Scheme. He said reducing food subsidies would be a burden on the people as the prices of essential commodities have become a burden to the poor.

Chandrababu welcomed some of the decisions taken by the Center in the matter of reforms and river connectivity. He said the Center was pleased to announce that the Krishna-Godavari river connection had been initiated through Pattiseema and was still making strides on river connectivity.

He said the central proposals in the case of electric vehicles, digital transactions and digital currency were good decisions. He said it was appropriate for the Center to come forward to promote the solar sector.

He, however, expressed dissatisfaction that the YSRCP had failed to safeguard the state's interests in the budget. He criticised that YSRCP MP's do not care about the state's interests except for their interests.

YSRCP parliamentary party leader Vijayasaireddy said the budget 2022 was"very disappointing ".

He said. "We oppose the privatization of state-owned enterprises. The increase in capital expenditure compared to the past is commendable. Reducing food subsidies is not correct. Regarding various central schemes, the regulations being implemented are detrimental to Andhra Pradesh.

He ashed to provide support prices for crops and GST compensation to continue for another five years.
