Vijayawada ACB court extended TDP chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu's remand up to October 19 in connection with the alleged Andhra Pradesh skill development scam. On Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu’s bail plea and Andhra Pradesh Police CID's plea seeking his custody in the Skill Development Corporation scam case were posted for hearing on Thursday. The second remand extension of Naidu was also about to end on Thursday, October 5.


According to ANI, Vijayawada ACB court extends TDP chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu's remand up to October 19th in connection with the alleged skill development scam.

On Wednesday, Vijayawada ACB Court took the decision amid continuing intense arguments between CID lawyers represented by Additional Advocate General P Sudhakar Reddy and Special Public Prosecutor Y N Vivekananda, and Supreme Court lawyer Pramod Dubey arguing on behalf of the former chief minister, reported PTI.


The CID filed the second custody petition since Naidu reportedly did not cooperate with the investigating officials during questions on September 23 and 24. The CID sought another five-day custody to question him in Skill Development Corporation scam case.


On September 9, Naidu was detained for allegedly misappropriating funds from Skill Development Corporation which cost the state exchequer about Rs 300 crore.


On Wednesday, the high court scheduled a hearing for TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh's anticipatory bail petition in the same matter, but the CID requested an extension until October 12 to file its reply.


Earlier, Pawan Kalyan announced Janasena's exit from NDA to support Chandrababu Naidu.
