Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan officially assumed the role of Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at the Camp Office on Wednesday. The occasion marked a new chapter in Kalyan's political career as he stepped into a significant leadership role within the state government.

He was assigned the portfolios of Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply, Environment, Forest, Science, and Technology. After assuming office, he signed a few files.


Earlier, a group of priests performed rituals and blessed Pawan Kalyan. The Deputy CM is set to reside on the upper floor while his office will be on the ground floor of the same house. 







 


Before taking charge, Pawan Kalyan inspected his designated chamber in the Secretariat on Tuesday. In addition to his office in the Secretariat, it is anticipated that he will also utilize the Vijayawada Irrigation Camp office for his administrative duties.


On Tuesday, Pawan Kalyan also called upon Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat. The Deputy CM was warmly received by Naidu, who embraced him as a gesture of camaraderie and support.


The meeting was attended by Ministers Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh, who accompanied Pawan Kalyan. 


In recognition of his new position and to ensure his safety, the state government has provided Pawan Kalyan with Y-Plus Security and a bulletproof car. These security measures were implemented as the actor-politician prepared to take on his new responsibilities.


Pawan Kalyan's party, JanaSena, demonstrated significant electoral success in the recent Andhra Pradesh elections. The party secured all 21 Assembly seats it contested and won two Lok Sabha seats, underscoring its growing influence in the state's political landscape.
