Hyderabad: A representative of National Commission for Scheduled Castes is expected to visit Hyderabad on Wednesday to take stock of the situation in connection with the ‘inhumane’ attack on BJP Corporator Malkajgiri V Sravan by Telangana Rashtra Samithi party MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and his followers during the Independence Day Celebrations at Malkajgiri of Hyderabad. The alleged discriminatory attack against the SC leader took place on 75th Independence day after the flag hoisting ceremony. Following this, the National Secretary of BJP SC Morcha gave a complaint to the NCSC.

As per the complaint to NCSC, the National Secretary said, BJP Corporator of Malkajgiri V Shravan was attacked and manhandled by TRS MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao during the Independence Day celebrations at Malkajgiri. "Following the attack, the followers of the MLA discarded photos of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, which were placed at the celebration site. The MLA also used casteist words to defame the SC leader," the complaint said.

Based on the complaint, Commission Chairman Vijay Sampla instructed Vice-Chairman Arun Haldar to visit Hyderabad on Wednesday to take stock of the situation. During the visit, Vice President is expected to visit the place where this incident took place and the hospital, where injured Dalit leaders are admitted.

However, the police have booked both TRS MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and BJP corporator V Sravan after the ruckus between both the parties. In the complaint from BJP, party’s corporator V Sravan alleged that he was attacked by beer bottles and was left to bleed by TRS Malkajgiri MLA M Hanumantha Rao and 15 other party supporters. Meanwhile, TRS members filed a complaint of abuse and assault by BJP corporator Sravan and his supporters.
