Hyderabad: The low pressure formed on the Odisha coast is intensifying. Due to its effect, heavy rains continue in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Odisha. Red alert has been sounded in two districts of Andhra Pradesh and a yellow alert warning has been issued for other districts.


In Telangana, the India Meteorological Department has issued a red, orange and yellow alerts in dofferent districts for the next three days.


The IMD said heavy rains would occur in both Telugu states for two to three days. A low-pressure area over Odisha and its surrounding regions extends southeastward to the east-central Bay of Bengal at an average of 1.5 km above sea level.


The Regional Meteorological Department (Amaravati) said there would be light to heavy rains in North Coastal Andhra and Yanam for two days. IMD officials have issued a red alert for the districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram due to heavy rains at many places. 


The met office has estimated moderate rains in South Coastal and Rayalaseema districts. Officials also said there would be rain with thunder and lightning in one or two districts of Rayalaseema. A yellow alert has also been issued for these districts. Officials have adviced people to be alert due to heavy rains.






Rains In Telangana


It has been raining heavily in many districts of Telangana for the past three days. The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has issued a red alert for the state that there will be widespread rains till July 13. A red alert has been issued, especially in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.


An orange alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rains in the districts of Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban and Jangaon districts. Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts have also issued a yellow alert and warned people not to come out of their homes unless necessary.


Educational institutions are closed for three days due to heavy rains across the state. The Telangana state government has announced holidays for all educational institutions across the state for three days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao made a decision and instructed the officials to take all necessary precautions to prevent any loss of life or property due to the rains.
