On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh CID issued a prisoner transit warrant against Chandrababu Naidu in the AP FiberNet case. The special ACB court directed CID to produce Naidu before it on October 16 but it noted that an order from the Supreme Court in the interregnum will be binding on it.

The FiberNet case relates to alleged tender manipulation in awarding a work order of Rs. 330 crore to a favored company under Phase-1 of the AP FiberNet Project.

The Crime Investigation Department alleged that irregularities occurred from tender allotment to project completion, resulting in a significant loss to the state treasury.
