Earlier, because of the high summer temperatures in several parts of the state, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hold half-day school starting April 4 for grades 1 to 9. From April 4, schools were open from 7.30 AM. to 11.30 AM. Class 10 students, on the other hand, will continue to attend school as usual with additional study hours as their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams, or board exams, begin on April 27.

Due to the Covid Pandemic, the last two academic years have been disrupted. The tenth-grade tests, however, were cancelled in the last two years. However, the summer vacation is due to be announced from April 24 and has been extended to May 6. Authorities have instructed schools to make arrangements to that effect.
