A goods train derailed between Thadi and Anakapalle Railway stations in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli district on Wednesday, resulting in disruptions to train movement on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route. The derailment occurred around 3:35 a.m. As a consequence of the incident, the South Central Railway has canceled six trains and rescheduled several others.






The following trains scheduled to commence journey on Wednesday have been cancelled - Train number 12805 Visakhapatnam-Lingampalli, 22701 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada, 22702 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam and 17240 Visakhapatnam-Guntur.


Two trains scheduled to depart on Thursday have also been cancelled. They are -- 12806 Lingampalli-Visakhapatnam and 17239 Guntur-Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express (20833), which was scheduled to depart from Visakhapatnam at 5.45 a.m. on Wednesday, was delayed by three hours.

Earlier, wagons of a goods train operated by a private cement company got derailed in Odisha's Bargarh. The train got derailed inside the factory premises near Mendhapali in Bargarh district. There is no role for railways in this matter, East Coast Railway said after the incident. This is completely narrow-gauge siding from a private cement company. All the infrastructure, including rolling stock, engines, waggons, and narrow gauge train tracks, is being maintained by the company, East Coast Railway stated.


"There is a private narrow gauge rail line between Dungri Limestone Mines and the ACC Bargarh Cement Plant. The line, wagons, and loco all are private. It is in no way connected with the Indian railway system," a Railways statement read.


Five bogies of the train, carrying limestone, derailed when it was en route Bargarh from Dunguri. No injury or casualty was reported in the incident, ECR said.
