Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a new scheme for women called YSR EBC Nestam, which has transferred funds directly into women's accounts. On Tuesday, about Rs 589 crores were deposited in beneficiaries' accounts virtually at the CM's camp office in Tadepalli.
CM YS Jagan said, "Through the EBC Nestam scheme, we provide financial assistance to poor women between the ages of 45 and 60 belonging to Reddy, Kamma, Arya Vaishya, Kshatriya, Velama and other OC communities," he said.
Jagan said EBC scheme would benefit a total of 3,92,674 individuals across the state. He stated that the AP government is committed to the state's overall development. He claimed that while EBC Nestham was not mentioned in the election manifesto, the administration has devised a plan to assist the underprivileged, regardless of caste or creed.
CM Jagan said the YSRCP government was working for women's economic development. Amma Odi scheme is benefiting over 45 lakh beneficiaries.
He alleged that "the previous government cheated DWACRA women, now we are offering loans with a support scheme". The CM recalled that 32 lakh people were given houses under YSR Jagananna colonies scheme.
"We are also supporting women in Politics," he said. Zakia Khan has been appointed as the first woman Vice Chairman of the Legislature. Pamula Pushpa Srivani and Women Home Minister Sucharitamma are the Deputy Chief Ministers.Neelam Sahni has been appointed as the first woman Chief Secretary of the state, said CM Jagan.
