Hyderabad: After Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Spokesperson K Pattabhi Ram was arrested on Wednesday night for using abusive words against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the latter on Thursday alleged that the expletive used by the TDP leader was to trigger those who admire him and create riots in the state. "How is it fair?" he questioned.


The CM speaking on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day on Thursday alleged that TDP is promoting enmity between groups by using expletives against him and provoking people to breach the peace.


Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu wrote to President, Prime Minister, and the Union Home Minister requesting to impose President's rule in the state. He further demanded a CBI inquiry pertaining to the attacks on TDP Party offices across the state allegedly by the YSRCP followers.

Earlier on Wednesday, TDP called for a state-wide shutdown after its party offices were vandalised. While many TDP leaders were arrested who tried to stage protests, several senior leaders were placed under house arrest.


The TDP spokesperson was booked under IPC Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 505 (2) (statements conducing to public mischief), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) read with 120B (criminal conspiracy).
