Four members of a family were killed while two others are critically injured after their car lost control and collided with a truck on the National Highway - 44, said the police on Saturday. The tragic incident occurred near Bachupalli village in Gunti Mandal, Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, said Venkat Ramireddy, Circle inspector, as per ANI.
The car was travelling from Hyderabad to Anantapur when it lost control and collided with a truck. The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, the official said, according to the news agency.
Palnadu Bus Fire
The Saturday accident occurred just days after six persons were charred to death and 20 others injured when a private bus caught fire after colliding with a tipper lorry in the Palnadu district in the early hours of Wednesday.
The accident occurred near Pasumarru in Chilkaluripeta Mandal when the bus belonging to private travels collided head-on with a tipper around 1 AM, police said, according to IANS.
The bus was heading to Hyderabad from Nilayapalem in Bapatla district. Injured passengers said they were returning to Hyderabad after casting their votes in Monday's simultaneous elections to the state Assembly and Lok Sabha.
Nuh Bus Fire
In another incident, at least 9 were killed after a bus caught fire near Tauru in Haryana’s Nuh late Friday. Several people were injured, including elderly women and children, in the accident which occurred around 2 AM on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. According to a PTI report, all of the 60 passengers were relatives and residents of Punjab's Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana and were returning from a pilgrimage in Mathura and Vrindavan.
"Nine people — six women and three men — were killed in the accident. Fifteen people were injured and have been hospitalised. All the injured are stable," said Inspector Jitendra Kumar, Station House Officer, Sadar Tauru told PTI. He had said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and that an investigation is underway.
