Eight students were injured after the auto in which they were traveling collided with a lorry near Sangam Sarat Theatre in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The injured students were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The speeding auto-rickshaw reportedly veered out of control, colliding with the truck. As a result of the impact, the three-wheeler flipped over throwing the children on the road.


Bystanders promptly intervened, providing assistance to the injured and transporting them to the hospital, where the condition of two individuals was reported to be critical.


The truck came to a halt approximately 100 meters from the scene of the accident.














The widely circulated CCTV footage of the incident, captured by a nearby building's camera, has gone viral on social media. Witnesses claimed that the speeding truck struggled to come to an immediate stop, and only after covering some distance did the driver manage to apply the brakes. Despite attempting to flee, the truck driver was apprehended by locals at the scene.


Locals handed both the drivers and the cleaner to police.


Upon scrutinizing the CCTV footage, police officials concluded that the collision was a result of the auto-rickshaw driver's negligence. However, further investigations are on. There is no clarity yet on whether a case has been registered by the police.
