New Delhi: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and Andhra Pradesh Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating how the state was suffering “unprecedented and harrowing times” due to the “unconstitutional” acts of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, news agency PTI reported.
Making a slew of allegations against the chief minister, Naidu wrote a 10-page letter to PM Narendra Modi and sought his intervention in setting the state “back to order”.
“Over five crore Telugu people and the state of AP have been going through unprecedented and most harrowing times since May 2019 on account of anti-democratic and unconstitutional acts unleashed with unsound mind by Reddy,” Naidu wrote.
In his letter, the former chief minister cited the alleged incidents of violence and autocracy, and said how the “democracy was under attack”.

According to PTI, the TDP chief wrote about the alleged destruction of Constitutional institutions, and said how the attacks on judiciary and central agencies have become the order of the day.
Citing examples, Naidu said that the YSRCP government is allegedly intimidating the legislature, judiciary and executive.
Further, he wrote that the democratic process is being undermined and places of worship are being targeted. He also alleged that the fundamental rights were being denied and democratic voices of dissent silenced.
“Over 250 incidents of attacks on Hindu temples have been reported in the past four years while properties belonging to Wakf Board and churches are being encroached upon,” he wrote.
Naidu further said that Andhra Pradesh the state has become the epicentre of drugs and how lawlessness was ruling the roost. He cited the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the chief minister's uncle, among other cases to support his allegations, PTI reported.
