Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed former CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's petition to quash FIR against him. The former Chief Minister was arrested in a case pertaining to the alleged AP Skill Development Corporation Scam. Earlier, ACB Court in Vijayawada extended his judicial custody for two more days on Friday. 


According to ANI, Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed former CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's petition to quash FIR.






 


HC said that it cannot interfere when the probe is on the fulcrum of attaining finality.


The Court said, "The investigating agency, pursuant to the registration of the crime in the year 2021 examined as many as more than 140 witnesses and collected documents to the tune of more than 4,000. Profligacy is such an esoteric subject, where investigation has to be carried with utmost proficiency by the professionals." 


At this stage, where the investigation is on fulcrum of attaining finalty, this court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings," it said.

Meanwhile, Naidu's lawyer is to approach the Supreme Court. 


Former CM Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department on September 9 at around 6 a.m. from R K Function Hall at Gnanapuram in Nandyala town. The arrest was made due to the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation which led to the loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state government.


The ex-CM's counsel said, "CID has taken Chandrababu for a medical check-up after high Blood Pressure and diabetes were detected. We are approaching the High Court for bail." 


Naidu was arrested under various Sections 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 471, 409, 201 R/W 109, 34&37 of the Indian Penal Code.
