Indian politician and lawyer who is currently serving as the chief minister of West Bengal since 20 May 2011; she is the first woman to hold the office. The founder and president of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC or TMC), she previously served as a Union Cabinet Minister and is also the current leader of the house in West Bengal's Legislative Assembly.
